Peoples’ Friendship Park
In the early 70s of the 20th century construction of Solnechniy neighborhood began in the north-western part of Bendery.
On November 18, 1972 the USSR Peoples’ Friendship Park was laid out nearby that today is called just Peoples’ Friendship Park.
A hill near the residential area was planted with birch trees that protect from landslides. The birch grove, which today is a favorite place for rest for city people, was the first stage of a large-scale project.
There is a small lake in the southern part of the park. In a picturesque place by the lake in a peculiar building, reminiscent of a medieval castle, there is “Teremok” cafe, built in the early 80s. Near the cafe there is a square and an amusement park.
The total area of the park is 7.7 hectares.
