Suvorov Square is the heart of Tiraspol and Pridnestrovie. Around the square there is a monument to A.V. Suvorov, De Wollant Square, embankment, Memorial of Glory, the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity, cinema and the Supreme Council of the PMR.
In Soviet times it was called Stalin’s Constitution Square. The square got its present-day appearance in the 1970-ies after large-scale restructuring of the town center.
Suvorov Square hosts military parades on the main national holidays – Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War and the Republic Day.
The entire area around the square will quite soon become Catherine Park – its construction will be com- pleted in 2020.
